A principal owner of Durham Financial with over 30 years of experience in the financial service industry, Glenda works closely with her clients to understand their lifestyles, needs and aspirations. She provides her clients a comprehensive financial plan to organize and simplify their financial lives and give them a sense of security. As a certified financial planner (CFP) with extensive business experience in the financial community, Glenda is able to recognize marketplace trends, and work with clients to maximize the effect of these changes on their longterm goals.
Widowed at a young age, and with two teenage children, Glenda recognizes firsthand the importance of financial planning for women. Her understanding and personal experience in these matters will ensure planning solutions are customized to help women through challenging transitions and to reach financial independence.
This empathetic and supportive nature extends outside the office as well. Glenda dedicates time and energy to the communities in Durham Region, including her involvement on the boards of the Oshawa Community Health Centre and the Association of Hospital Volunteers in Bowmanville.
Glenda has spoken to several women’s groups on regarding financial planning and estate planning for women as well as taught Money Management for Junior Achievement to local school children.
Glenda understands the financial impact brought on by divorce, and the importance of maintaining or selecting a lifestyle that promotes financial stability and ongoing financial independence. In addition to her CFP, Glenda has completed advanced specialized training in the areas of divorce financial planning (CFDS) and the collaborative process. This enables her to help clients plan financially through separation, divorce, and remarriage, each of which brings their own complexities.
Glenda has spoken to various women’s groups on financial issues and the importance of financial planning. She has helped to educate and empower women to take control over their financial lives.
